Freelance Science Writer – Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as “Terms”) govern the relationship between Nicola Williams (hereinafter referred to as the “Freelance Science Writer”) and [Client/Company Name] (hereinafter referred to as the “Client”), relating to science writing services to be provided by the Freelance Science Writer to the Client. By engaging the services of the Freelance Science Writer, the Client agrees to be bound by these Terms.
1. Services
The Freelance Science Writer agrees to provide science writing services to the Client, including but not limited to writing articles, blog posts, research papers, reports, or other science-related content (hereinafter referred to as the “Services”). The scope of work for each project shall be agreed upon in writing or via email before the commencement of work.
2. Compensation
The Client agrees to pay the Freelance Science Writer the agreed-upon fee for the Services provided. Payment terms and rates shall be negotiated and confirmed in writing before the start of each project. Payment shall be made in GBP (£) and can be processed through bank transfer or another agreed-upon payment method.
3. Copyright and Ownership
Upon receipt of full payment, the Client shall own the rights to the final approved content provided by the Freelance Science Writer. Until full payment is received, the Freelance Science Writer retains the copyright and ownership of any original work created during the engagement.
4. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive or proprietary information exchanged during the project. This includes, but is not limited to, project details, client information, and any unpublished work.
5. Revisions
The Freelance Science Writer will provide drafts or completed work for review and approval. The Client may request reasonable revisions within a specified time frame. The Freelance Science Writer will endeavour to incorporate the Client’s feedback to ensure client satisfaction.
6. Delivery Timeline
The Freelance Science Writer shall provide the Services within the agreed-upon timeline. However, the timeline may be subject to change if there are reasonable grounds for extension, such as unforeseen circumstances or changes to the scope of work. The Freelance Science Writer shall communicate any such changes promptly.
7. Termination
Either party may terminate the engagement by providing written notice to the other party. In the event of termination, the Client shall compensate the Freelance Science Writer for the work completed up to the termination date.
8. Indemnification
The Client agrees to indemnify and hold the Freelance Science Writer harmless from any claims, liabilities, losses, or damages arising from the use or publication of the content provided by the Freelance Science Writer.
9. Non-Competition
During the term of engagement and for a period of 6 months after its termination, the Client agrees not to engage, employ, or contract any individual or entity that was introduced to them by the Freelance Science Writer for projects similar to the Services provided.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
11. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire understanding between the parties concerning the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous agreements, whether oral or written.
12. Amendments
No amendment, modification, or waiver of any provision of these Terms shall be valid unless in writing and signed by both parties.
By engaging the Freelance Science Writer’s services, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
